I spent over 10 years working as a Digital Designer
As a kid at school I remember putting ‘Graphic Designer’ as a job placeholder when practicing how to write a CV. Somehow, I’ve always known that my path ahead in life was paved with digital screens and visual mockups.
Starting as a Junior Interactive Designer in a small agency in London’s Notting Hill I learned a lot about web design, online advertising and especially layouts by creating and hand-coding email newsletters. Later, I outgrew email grids and became familiar with a broad range of design areas in bigger companies, designing mainly online ads, banners, and landing pages. I truly became a Digital Design All-Rounder.
Art Direction enriched my craft
It wasn’t a big jump from design to art direction. In fact, I stumbled upon it almost organically in a designer role in 2014, discovering the fun and excitement of conceptualizing communication campaigns for various products, themes and seasons. I was responsible for co-managing and co-planning those campaigns, providing creative direction for photography teams and communicating ideas to other stakeholders within the companies. That’s how I learnt responsibility and accountability.
Additionally, I could hone my soft skills and personal integrity in various complex situations.
